Hal Robson-Kanu wins it late for Reading

Reading secure a dramatic 2-1 win in their FA Cup clash against Cardiff City thanks to Hal Robson-Kanu's late strike.

Reading have secured a dramatic 2-1 win in their fourth-round FA Cup tie against Cardiff City this afternoon thanks to Hal Robson-Kanu's late goal.

The game started quietly at the Cardiff City Stadium, with no real chances for either side during the opening exchanges.

Oliver Norwood found himself in space on the edge of the box after good interplay from the Royals but he could only curl the ball over the bar.

At the other end, Peter Whittingham's curled free kick was not far away from Adam Federici's top corner.

Cardiff eventually went in front through Kenwyne Jones, who headed home after meeting Whittingham's corner.

Following the restart, Norwood's long distance drive took a deflection before being well tipped over by Simon Moore in the Cardiff goal.

Reading looked increasingly likely to score as the half went on and the dangerous Norwood eventually grabbed an equaliser with a fine free kick.

The Royals then snatched a victory in the dying moments of the game when Robson-Kanu flicked past Moore and into the net.
