Cardiff City draw Coventry City in Capital One Cup

Cardiff City are drawn against Coventry City in their first-round clash of the Capital One Cup next season.

Cardiff City will travel to Coventry City in the first round of the Capital One Cup next season.

The Welsh outfit have been drawn in the first round of the competition following their relegation from the Premier League last season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Bluebirds, who are the only club from last season's top flight in the first-round draw, will take on the League One outfit during the week commencing August 11.

Luton Town, who are back in the Football League following their promotion from the Conference, will take on Swindon Town at Kenilworth Road.

AFC Wimbledon face a trip to MK Dons, while League One champions Wolverhampton Wanderers host Morecambe at Molineux.

New Nottingham Forest manager Stuart Pearce will take his side to Tranmere Rovers, while Brighton & Hove Albion, with new boss Sami Hyypia at the helm, have a home tie against Cheltenham Town.

Current Capital One Cup holders Manchester City will enter the draw in the latter stages of the competition.
