Cardiff City chairman Dato Chan Tien Ghee has stood by his decision to change the team's kit from blue to red.
The Malaysian billionaire also changed the Bluebirds' nickname to the Dragons in a move that has been met with a backlash from fans.
Ghee said that he understands the supports' perspective, but hopes that they will embrace the changes over time.
"I know and understand that there have been reservations in certain quarters over the changes accompanying the investment but sincerely hope that all of our loyal fans will come to accept the changes in the spirit in which they are made and continue with their passionate and fantastic support.
"This club will always be Cardiff City Football Club and its name and heart will never change nor are any of the changes meant to destroy any part of its history or culture."
Ghee invested £100m into the club as part of the rebrand, money which will go towards upgrading training facilities and expanding the Cardiff City Stadium.
