Cardiff City midfielder Peter Whittingham has expressed his desire to get back into the day-to-day running of the Championship season.
The Bluebirds, who narrowly missed out on a promotion place to the Premier League last season, have faced a recent backlash from a collection of supporters following the club's Malaysian owners' decision to change Cardiff's traditional blue strip to red.
Despite the new development, Whittingham has put all his focus into getting back onto the pitch for the new season.
"We are in good shape as a squad and personally I can't wait to run out at Cardiff City Stadium," Whittingham told Wales Online.
"We've had the hard pre-season we needed. The gaffer (Malky Mackay) has really worked us and with a few new signings in the squad things are looking good.
"We need a good start to finally put the disappointment of last season behind us and we are all looking forward to Huddersfield."
Cardiff also missed out on silverware last season following the Carling Cup final defeat to Liverpool in February.
