Cardiff City kicked off their pre-season campaign on a good note following a thrilling 3-2 victory against Cambridge United on Saturday.
Steve Morison's men opened the scoring early on through James Collins but were pegged back before the interval thanks to Harvey Knibbs, but after they stormed to a two-goal lead in the second half through Max Watters and Joel Bagan, Saikou Janneh scored a late consolation goal to set up a cracking finale.
Off the back of a five-game winless streak, the Bluebirds have now won back to back games for the first time since March, and things are looking up once again.
With three straight friendlies on the road to follow Tuesday's game, the home side will be looking to put on a show for their supporters in this one.
Newport County eased past the challenge of non-League side Hungerford Town in a routine 3-0 victory at Dragon Park on Saturday evening.
James Rowberry's men broke the deadlock in the early exchanges of the game through James Clarke before further strikes from Will Evans and Chanka Zimba put the result beyond doubt.
The Ironsides have now won their last two games by a combined score of 10-0 having thrashed Undy Athletic by seven goals to nothing on July 1.
Ahead of the start of league action later this month, Tuesday's visitors will be looking to put together a solid pre-season campaign to help set the tone nicely.
