Preview: Cardiff City vs. Wigan Athletic

Sports Mole previews the clash between promotion favourites Cardiff City and Wigan Athletic in the Championship.

Two of the favourites for promotion from the Championship this season go head-to-head on Tuesday evening when Wigan Athletic travel to Cardiff City.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are unbeaten following their first two games and sit third in the table, while Wigan are yet to record a win.

The home side will be without Ben Turner after he underwent ankle surgery last week, ruling him out for up to three months.

However, Javi Guerra could be in line for his first start for the club after playing 20 minutes in the 3-1 win over Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Uwe Rosler will be hoping that his side can recover from a 2-1 defeat to Charlton Athletic at the weekend.

The 2013 FA Cup winners have reported no fresh injuries following their trip to The Valley, so could name an unchanged side.

When the two sides met in the FA Cup earlier this year, Wigan secured a 2-1 win over the then-Premier League side at the Cardiff City Stadium.
