Brighton & Hove Albion record a 2-0 win over Cardiff City despite coming under immense pressure at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Brighton & Hove Albion have performed a smash-and-grab 2-0 victory over Cardiff City in the Welsh capital.

Both teams made a decent start, but it was the hosts who had the better chances in the first half.

Fraizer Campbell clipped the bar early on, while Peter Whittingham was denied by a good save from Tomasz Kuszczak.

Craig Bellamy then saw his effort tipped onto the bar, before the Pole made a fine double save to frustrate him once more.

The Bluebirds were hit on the counter just two minutes before the break, as Andrea Orlandi turned home from close range to give the visitors the lead.

The second half continued in a similar pattern, with the hosts pressing forward in search of an equaliser.

However, they struggled to find a way past Kuszczak, who repelled everything that Cardiff could throw at him.

He made another great stop to deny Craig Conway, while the bar was rattled twice before but their best chance of the match fell to Aron Gunnarsson late on.

The Icelandic international got on the end of Andrew Taylor's driven cross, but could not direct his effort on target.

A frustrating night was capped off when Leonardo Ulloa's shot deflected past David Marshall as the seconds ticked away.
