Cardiff City earn late draw against Manchester United

Cardiff City claim a 2-2 draw against Manchester United in their Premier League match, with Kim Bo-Kyung scoring a late equaliser.

Cardiff City have held Manchester United to a 2-2 draw in their Premier League match at the Cardiff City Stadium.

The hosts had the first chance of the half when Jordon Mutch delivered a dangerous ball into the middle that David de Gea had to be alert to claim under pressure from Fraizer Campbell.

Wayne Rooney was then lucky to stay on the pitch after he kicked out at Mutch, but the referee decided that his challenge only warranted a yellow card.

In the 15th minute of the match, Rooney gave the visitors the lead. The striker was allowed space to turn inside the box, before firing in a low strike that took a deflection of Gary Medel and looped over goalkeeper David Marshall.

United came close to scoring a second through Patrice Evra, but the keeper was alert to beat away the defender's headed effort.

The home side levelled the scores just past the half-hour mark. Mutch slid through an inch-perfect pass to Campbell, with the striker making no mistake to calmly finish past De Gea.

In the final minute of the first half United took the lead when Evra rose highest to head home Rooney's corner.

After the break, Marshall had to be alert to push wide a header from Marouane Fellaini, before denying Chris Smalling from the resulting corner.

Campbell nearly scored his second of the afternoon with a chipped effort that beat De Gea, but came back off the crossbar.

Marshall had to be alert soon after to save at the feet of Danny Welbeck after the striker was played through on goal by Ryan Giggs.

Cardiff pushed for a late equaliser and were rewarded in stoppage time when Kim Bo-Kyung headed in Peter Whittingham's free kick to earn his side a point.
