Ten-man Celta Vigo equalise late against Real Sociedad

Celta Vigo score late on to share a 2-2 draw with Real Sociedad in La Liga.

Celta Vigo equalised inside the final 10 minutes to share a 2-2 draw with Real Sociedad in La Liga, despite playing most of the second half with only 10 men.

The visitors broke the deadlock early on as Sergio Canales drilled the ball in from outside the box following a quick break from Carlos Vela.

However, Celta responded well, creating numerous chances before Mario Bermejo was brought down by Inigo Martinez in the box, allowing Nolito to level from the spot.

Vela came close to restoring Sociedad's lead just before the break, but he fired his effort high and wide. However, Antoine Griezmann managed to make amends a minute later, tapping in from close range.

Things got worse for the home side after the break when Jon Aurtenetxe was shown a straight red for a reckless challenge on Vela.

Griezmann and Martinez both had chances to increase Sociedad's lead further, but they failed to test the keeper.

Celta punished their misses late on when Santi Mina smashed the ball in from close range after Fabian Orrellana had crossed it in.

Orrellana came close to stealing a win for the hosts, but his finish from a tight angle was just held, ensuring that the score finished level.
