Ronny Deila: 'Celtic were not good enough'

Celtic manager Ronny Deila says that his team will recover from their early exit from this season's Champions League.

Celtic manager Ronny Deila has expressed his disappointment following his side's exit from the Champions League.

The Scottish champions were beaten 2-0 by Legia Warsaw this evening to complete a 6-1 aggregate defeat in their third qualifying-round tie.

Deila has admitted that Celtic were beaten by the better side, but he has backed his players to bounce back by defending their league title.

"We didn't play as a Champions League team," Deila told BBC Sport. "We have to perform much better than that. We have to win the league.

"It was not good enough. They started okay and put them under a little bit of pressure, but they didn't create anything. They got two easy goals, again, and that's worrying me. We just have to say we lost to the better team. The boys want to play better.

"We are very disappointed. We're going to rise up and we're going to perform much better, win the league again, and next year in this situation we're going to go through."

Deila was appointed as manager of Celtic in June, following Neil Lennon's exit from the club.
