Leigh Griffiths fined for offensive song

Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths is handed a suspended two-game ban and fined £2,500 for singing an offensive song about Rudi Skacel.

Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has been handed a suspended two-match ban and fined £2,500 for joining in with an offensive song about Rudi Skacel.

Griffiths was caught on video singing the song about the former Hearts striker with a large group of Hibernian supporters before a meeting between the two rivals.

A disciplinary tribunal for the Scottish Football Association found that the striker was guilty of "not acting in the best interests of association football" during the incident in March 2014.

The 25-year-old was also admonished by a sheriff after confessing in court last week.

Celtic fined Griffiths four weeks' wages after the footage emerged.
