Celtic manager Neil Lennon has praised his players for overcoming Arbroath 1-0 in their fourth-round Scottish Cup replay on Wednesday.
The Hoops struggled at times against their Second Division opponents, but Adam Matthews's 19th-minute strike was enough to see them into the next round.
"It was a performance full of character," said Lennon.
"It was a horrible night. The pitch got worse as the game went on and you could see how difficult it was to play on. It became almost like an ice rink.
"I was worried about the safety of the players but they showed their professionalism tonight and great character. The pitch was definitely a leveller."
Celtic will now travel to Raith Rovers in the last 16 of the competition.
