Wednesday's Scottish Premiership predictions including Celtic, Rangers

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Wednesday's Scottish Premiership fixtures, including Celtic and Rangers in action.

St Mirren will be hoping that lightning strikes twice against Rangers when they welcome the Scottish Premiership leaders to Paisley for Wednesday's top-flight clash.

Jim Goodwin's men eased to a 2-0 victory over Ross County last time out, while Rangers scraped past Hibernian 1-0 to remain 16 points clear at the top of the pile.

We say: St Mirren 1-3 Rangers

Rangers may feel slightly apprehensive about the prospect of another trip to Paisley, and Gerrard's men are sure to have one eye on their crunch match with Celtic at the weekend. Goodwin's side will fancy their chances if Gerrard does shuffle the pack, but we cannot envisage St Mirren defying the odds a second time and are backing Rangers to get the job done.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Celtic vs. Dundee Utd (Wednesday, 3.00pm)

Celtic head into their Scottish Premiership encounter with Dundee United on Wednesday hoping to extend their winning run in all competitions to six matches.

Meanwhile, the Tangerines, who drew 1-1 against Motherwell in their last match, are looking for their first win at Celtic Park since 1993.

We say: Celtic 2-0 Dundee United

Dundee United will be keen to avenge their defeat at the start of the season against Celtic, however the Hoops have looked stronger in recent weeks at both ends of the pitch and should secure the three points on Wednesday.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

St Johnstone vs. Hamilton (Wednesday, 3.00pm)

Two teams looking to end pitiful spells of form in the Scottish Premiership will lock horns on Wednesday afternoon as St Johnstone play host to Hamilton Academical.

Both sides came up short in their Boxing Day fixtures, with Callum Davidson's men losing 2-1 at Aberdeen while Hamilton were put to the sword by Celtic.

We say: St Johnstone 1-0 Hamilton Academical

Hamilton's lengthy list of absentees has hit them hard in recent weeks, and despite winning at Ross County a couple of weeks ago, Rice's men are notoriously poor away from home. St Johnstone will view this game as a perfect opportunity to create some breathing space between themselves and the bottom two, so we expect Davidson's men to extend their lead over Hamilton to six points with a narrow win on Wednesday.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Livingston vs. Aberdeen (Wednesday, 4.00pm)

Livingston host Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday evening with both sides currently enjoying good spells of form.

The Lions have a 100% record in the league under new boss David Martindale, while the Dons have lost just three of their 19 top-flight matches this campaign.

We say: Livingston 1-1 Aberdeen

Livingston, who have scored only eight times at home this season, face an Aberdeen outfit who have found the net just nine times on the road. Both sides are currently in good form but they may have to settle for a draw on Wednesday evening.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Hibernian vs. Ross County (Wednesday, 6.00pm)

Ross County travel to Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday evening hoping to end a run of 12 league matches without a win.

Hibs, meanwhile, have only won three of their nine home matches in the top-flight this campaign, but are currently unbeaten in nine games in all competitions at Easter Road.

We say: Hibernian 3-0 Ross County

Ross County will be desperate for a win and to end their disappointing run of form. However, the strike partnership of Doidge and Nisbet for Hibs is likely to cause the Staggies problems and help secure a comfortable victory.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Motherwell vs. Kilmarnock (Wednesday, 6.15pm)

Motherwell welcome Kilmarnock to Fir Park in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday evening, with both sides currently enduring difficult runs of form.

The Steelmen have failed to win any of their last eight matches in all competitions, while Killie suffered their fifth league defeat in a row at home to Livingston on Boxing Day.

We say: Motherwell 0-0 Kilmarnock

Both sides are keen to end their poor runs of form and secure three points on Wednesday, but with the two teams struggling to convert chances in the final third, we could see a stalemate at Fir Park.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.
