Report: Charlton Athletic to name Nebojsa Vignjevic new manager

Charlton Athletic will reportedly turn to Serbian Nebojsa Vignjevic, currently in charge of Hungarian outfit Ujpest, to be their new manager.

Championship strugglers Charlton Athletic have reportedly agreed a deal to appoint Nebojsa Vignjevic as their new manager.

According to talkSPORT, 47-year-old Vignjevic will replace current interim head coach Karel Fraeye in charge of the Addicks.

Vignjevic's appointment would continue the trend of Charlton owner Roland Duchatelet turning to clubs he is associated with - Vignjevic is currently in charge of Hungarian top-flight side Ujpest, a team also owned by the Belgian businessman.

Charlton are second-bottom in the Championship and have the worst goal difference in the league following a 5-0 defeat at Huddersfield Town last night.

Addicks captain Johnnie Jackson said on Twitter that supporters who travelled to Yorkshire would be reimbursed after a "disgraceful showing".

"I know words are cheap but on behalf of myself and the players, I want to apologise for tonight. It was disgraceful and you deserve better," he said.

"We are going to reimburse fans who travelled up to support us. I will arrange this with the club + they will let you know how to be refunded."

Last night's defeat means that Charlton are without a win in 10 games.
