Guy Luzon hails Charlton Athletic desire in Hull City win

Charlton Athletic boss Guy Luzon hails the effort of his team to strike deep into the stoppage time to earn a winner in their Championship clash against Hull City.

Charlton Athletic boss Guy Luzon has praised the desire of his players to earn a late victory over Hull City in their Championship clash.

Simon Makienok put the Addicks ahead in the second half, but Abel Hernandez notched an equaliser in the 89th minute.

However, eight minutes of stoppage time were added by the officials and Luzon's men capitalised by firing home a winner in the 98th minute through Johann Berg Gudmundsson.

Luzon told the club's official website: "We played well in the first half and we dominated most of the ball. The possession was always with us and I spoke to the players at half time and said to them that it still wasn't enough.

"We needed to show more quality to get the result. We needed to change the rhythm and tempo, increase it by 20 or 30% and we needed to do everything to win this game. We need to continue like this because this is the only way to succeed."

Charlton have taken eight points from their first four matches of the campaign.
