Guy Luzon "pleased" with Chris Eagles impact

Charlton Athletic manager Guy Luzon admits that he was "pleased" to see Chris Eagles score on his debut for the club.

Guy Luzon has said that he was "pleased" to see Chris Eagles mark his Charlton Athletic debut with a goal just a couple of days after joining the club.

The striker came off the bench to score late on in the team's 3-0 win over Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium last night.

The manager said at his post-match press conference: "He played well for his first time and I'm pleased that he could score.

"We knew they'd have a gap in the defence because Wigan sent a lot of players to attack and I know that we'd have the quality to use the gap and score and I'm happy that we did it."

The result lifted Charlton up to 12th in the Championship table.
