Franck Moussa late show stuns Wigan Athletic

Charlton hit a late winner through Franck Moussa as the Addicks pip Wigan Athletic to victory at The Valley.

Franck Moussa bagged a stoppage-time winner as Charlton Athletic sealed their first win of the Championship season with a dramatic 2-1 victory over Wigan Athletic at The Valley this afternoon.

Bob Peeters's side started marginally the better of the teams and the hosts did not have to wait long before seeing their dominance rewarded.

Johann Berg Gudmundsson fed Jordan Cousins, who cut inside his marker before smashing home the opener from 20 yards after eight minutes.

However, Callum McManaman was on hand to level up the clash in tidy fashion, producing a jinking solo run before slotting home the equaliser.

Charlton would have gone ahead early in the second half if not for the intervention of Latics goalkeeper Scott Carson, who palmed Igor Vetokele's deflected effort just past the post.

The Addicks threatened a late winner when defender Chris Solly saw his shot cleared off the line.

Moussa was on hand to produce the heroics moments later, watching his deflected shot sail past the helpless Carson as Charlton registered their first three-point haul of the season.
