USA international defender Oguchi Onyewu has signed a new contract with Championship club Charlton Athletic until the end of the season.
The 32-year-old centre-back initially joined the Addicks on a short-term deal until January, but he will now remain with the club until June 1.
The former AC Milan player has made just two substitute appearances for Charlton since joining in October, but manager Bob Peeters sees him as a key back-up to first-choice centre-back duo Tal Ben Haim and Andre Bikey.
Onyewu had a much more successful stint in the Championship with Sheffield Wednesday last season, making 18 starts in the second half of the campaign for the Owls.
