Didier Drogba: 'I have nothing to prove to Chelsea'

Galatasaray striker Didier Drogba insists that he has nothing to prove to Chelsea during tomorrow's Champions League last 16 second leg at Stamford Bridge.

Galatasaray striker Didier Drogba has insisted that he has "nothing to prove" to Chelsea when he returns to Stamford Bridge tomorrow night.

Drogba enjoyed an impressive eight-year spell with the Blues before his contract was allowed to expire at the end of the 2011-12 season, signing off by scoring the winning penalty in that year's Champions League final.

The 36-year-old returns to Stamford Bridge for the first time when Galatasaray take on Chelsea in the Champions League last-16 second leg on Tuesday, but he insists that he is simply out to win the match rather than prove his former employers wrong.

"To leave Chelsea on a high like I did, if I could do it I would do it again the same way. But then I always say that I believe in destiny and if I ever wanted to play again for this team, I think it could've happened a long time ago," Drogba told reporters.

"As it didn't there's no problem with that. I'm really happy at Galatasaray. I'm focusing on this game tomorrow, because for me it's an important one and I want it to be the best one. I have nothing to prove to this club.

"Everything I had to prove I think I did it with Chelsea. I come here with another team. I just want to win the game, I just want to qualify. There's nothing personal against Chelsea, there will never be."

The first leg between the two sides last month ended 1-1 in Turkey.
