Nemanja Matic: 'I won't be scared of any team in Champions League quest'

Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic insists that he is "not scared" of any opposition that his club might face in the Champions League this season.

Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic has insisted that he will not fear any team that he faces during the club's quest to become Champions League winners this season.

Under manager Jose Mourinho, the five-time league champions have never sealed glory in the elite European competition.

Last season, the Blues were knocked out by Paris Saint-Germain in the last-16 stage, but Matic is confident that he and his teammates can progress much further this time around.

"Of course we're not happy that we didn't play so well in the Champions League but we hope this season we can go further," The Express quotes Matic as saying. "My dream is to win it and we will see if we are ready this season.

"To be champion you need to have everything - quality, luck, everything. This season I hope we have more luck and with our quality this is enough to be champion.

"We have quality like the big teams, we will show that this season. We are ready to compete with everyone. I'm not scared."

Chelsea won the league by eight points last season.
