Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku has dropped to the substitutes' bench for Tuesday's Champions League fixture against Lille at Stamford Bridge.
Lukaku broke an unwanted Premier League record on Saturday as he made just seven touches of the ball during his ninety-minute outing at Crystal Palace.
Head coach Thomas Tuchel defended the Belgian during his pre-match press conference, but that has not led to the club-record addition being kept in the starting lineup.
In reverting back to a 3-4-3, Tuchel has made a total of three changes, bringing Cesar Azpilicueta, Mateo Kovacic and Marcos Alonso into the team.
As well as Lukaku, Malang Sarr and Jorginho have also only been named among the replacements for the meeting with last season's Ligue 1 champions.
In-demand trio Sven Botman, Renato Sanches and Jonathan David all feature in the Lille XI.
