Sunday's FA Cup predictions including Marine vs. Tottenham Hotspur

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Sunday's FA Cup third round ties, including the David vs. Goliath contest between Marine and Tottenham Hotspur.

Barnsley vs. Tranmere (Sunday, 1.30pm)

Barnsley begin their FA Cup campaign on Sunday when they welcome League Two side Tranmere Rovers to Oakwell Stadium in the third round.

The visitors head into their clash with the Championship side having already beaten Accrington Stanley and Brackley Town in this season's edition.

We say: Barnsley 2-0 Tranmere Rovers

In terms of availability, Barnsley are boosted by player returns from injuries and illnesses, whereas Tranmere's squad has been depleted at the worst possible time for Hill. The visiting manager is unlikely to enjoy a memorable return to South Yorkshire, with Ismael's men expected to record a comfortable win en route to the fourth round.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Crawley vs. Leeds (Sunday, 1.30pm)

League Two side Crawley Town will be looking to pull off an upset in the third round of the FA Cup when they face Premier League opposition in the shape of Leeds United on Sunday afternoon.

Crawley have beaten Torquay United and AFC Wimbledon in the first two rounds of this season's competition and will be facing a Leeds side that have not won an FA Cup fixture since January 2017.

We say: Crawley Town 1-2 Leeds United

Crawley are certainly capable of making it a difficult afternoon for Leeds, who have lost to the likes of Sutton United and Newport County in recent seasons. The Whites should have enough quality to advance to the fourth round, but they might have to suffer for long stages of the match.

Our tipster partners are predicting an away win.

Bristol City vs. Portsmouth (Sunday, 1.30pm)

An out-of-sorts Bristol City side get their FA Cup campaign underway on Sunday when they play host to 2008 winners Portsmouth at Ashton Gate.

Both teams will be taking to the pitch for the first time in 2021 after their most recent league fixtures were postponed due to coronavirus outbreaks.

We say: Bristol City 1-1 Portsmouth (Portsmouth to win on penalties)

This is a very difficult game to call. Portsmouth could still be reeling from the effects of their coronavirus outbreak, but the visitors' defensive resolve has been evident this season, whereas Bristol City struggle for goals on their own patch. 120 minutes may not be enough to separate the two sides, but we are backing Pompey to advance on penalties.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or draw.

Man City vs. Birmingham (Sunday, 1.30pm)

Manchester City will be looking to make it six straight victories in all competitions when they host Birmingham City in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon.

Pep Guardiola's side booked their spot in the EFL Cup final with a 2-0 win over Manchester United on Wednesday night, while Birmingham will enter the contest off the back of a 2-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers in the Championship.

We say: Manchester City 3-0 Birmingham City

Birmingham's recent form has been really disappointing, and it is difficult to imagine the Championship side pulling off a shock result on Sunday afternoon. Guardiola will make changes, but the home side should still be far too strong for the second-tier club.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Chelsea vs. Morecambe (Sunday, 1.30pm)

Chelsea will be desperate to pick up a confidence-boosting victory this weekend when they welcome League Two side Morecambe to Stamford Bridge in the third round of the FA Cup.

The Blues fell to a 3-1 home defeat to Manchester City in their most recent outing, whereas Morecambe won their fourth game on the bounce with a Boxing Day triumph over Grimsby Town by the same scoreline.

We say: Chelsea 5-0 Morecambe

While the form book suggests that Morecambe could certainly be in with a chance at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea know that a crushing victory would be the perfect tonic after a dismal few weeks. The Blues are expected to make wholesale changes to their starting XI but will simply have too much quality for their fourth-tier opponents, so a resounding home victory is the only outcome that we can see.

Our tipster partners are predicting a draw.

Cheltenham vs. Mansfield (Sunday, 1.30pm)

League Two rivals Cheltenham Town and Mansfield Town will lock horns in the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon, with a spot in the fourth round of the competition up for grabs.

Cheltenham have beaten South Shields and Crewe Alexandra to advance to this stage, while Mansfield have overcome Sunderland and Dagenham & Redbridge in the first two rounds.

We say: Cheltenham Town 1-2 Mansfield Town

Both sides will enter the match believing that they have a genuine chance of reaching the fourth round, which could bring a glamour tie against a Premier League club. Cheltenham have home advantage, but Mansfield's recent form has been impressive, and we fancy Clough's side to advance.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Marine AFC vs. Spurs (Sunday, 5.00pm)

Marine players celebrate booking their spot in the third round of the FA Cup on November 29, 2020© Reuters

David meets Goliath in the pick of this weekend's FA Cup third-round matches as eighth-tier Marine AFC welcome Premier League big boys Tottenham Hotspur to Merseyside on Sunday evening.

The non-league hosts overcame Havant & Waterlooville to set up a highly-anticipated showdown with Spurs, who go into this game having just booked their spot in the EFL Cup final.

We say: Marine AFC 0-4 Tottenham Hotspur

Not only does the once-in-a-lifetime visit of Spurs hand Marine an incredible opportunity to test themselves against some of the Premier League's best, it will also provide the club with an unprecedented amount of financial support at a time where non-league teams truly need it. While almost every neutral fan will be hoping to see the upset of all upsets occur at the Marine Travel Arena, Spurs are set to name a team packed with international stars and the hosts' magical FA Cup journey is expected to end here.

Our tipster partners are predicting a draw.

Newport vs. Brighton (Sunday, 7.45pm)

Premier League manager Graham Potter pictured in November 2020© Reuters

Brighton & Hove Albion will be looking to put their recent Premier League troubles aside when they face Newport County in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday night.

The Seagulls are currently 17th in the Premier League table, having struggled for consistency this term, while Newport are second in League Two, just a point behind leaders Carlisle United.

We say: Newport County 1-2 Brighton & Hove Albion

Newport have been impressive in the cup competitions this season and are certainly capable of overcoming Brighton on Sunday. Potter is likely to select a number of players with points to prove, though, and we fancy the top-flight club to edge their way into the fourth round of the competition.

Our tipster partners are predicting an away win.
