Phil Parkinson has revealed that he had no interest in entertaining Jose Mourinho's premature handshake in Bradford City's FA Cup shock of Chelsea on Saturday.
The League One visitors to Stamford Bridge came from two goals down to dump the Premier League leaders out in the fourth round with a famous 4-2 victory.
As he has done to mixed opinion at times this season, Mourinho went to shake hands with Parkinson prior to the final whistle, but the Bantams manager was concentrating on closing out the historic result.
However, he was more than happy with the 'classy' manner in which his Blues counterpart congratulated Bradford after the game.
"He [Mourinho] came over to shake hands but at that point there was still three-and-a-half minutes left and I wasn't getting drawn into that," Parkinson said in his post-match press conference.
"You know that if Chelsea got one [goal] back even at that late stage, and with their world class players on the pitch, they could easily have got a second [goal] so we wanted to concentrate on what we had to do and see the game through.
"He came in the dressing room afterwards [though] and shook everyone's hands - crediting the lads for their performances, which I thought was a real touch of class."
Gary Cahill and Ramires had put the Blues 2-0 ahead before Jon Stead pulled one back for the visitors, and further goals from Filipe Morais, Andy Halliday and Mark Yeates ended Chelsea's hopes of the quadruple.
