Having appointed club legend Frank Lampard as their new manager, Chelsea had been hoping for a positive start to the season with games against Manchester United and Liverpool.
However, despite encouraging signs going forward, the Blues suffered a 4-0 defeat at Old Trafford, immediately putting the pressure on Lampard and his players ahead of the UEFA Super Cup final.
The West Londoners are currently being hindered by a number of injury issues, although Lampard will hope to have at least one extra player at his disposal in Istanbul on Wednesday night.
Here, Sports Mole takes a look at how Chelsea could line up against the Champions League winners in Turkey.
Out: Antonio Rudiger (knee), Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Achilles), Callum Hudson-Odoi (Achilles), Reece James (ankle)
Doubtful: Willian (hamstring)
Willian could return to the fold having missed the United setback with a hamstring strain, although the Brazilian may have to make do with a place on the bench.
N'Golo Kante came through the closing stages unscathed as he bids to regain his spot in the team after a similar injury, but the Frenchman may be limited to more minutes in the second half.
However, Lampard is expected to include Christian Pulisic having only named the USA international among his substitutes at the weekend, meaning that Mason Mount could drop out of the team.
That would allow Barkley, who was withdrawn early in the second half against United, to return to the central role behind the main striker, a position he flourished in during pre-season.
Despite impressing against United, Tammy Abraham is unlikely to start two games in a row with each of Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi waiting in the wings.
The backline could remain the same, however, as Lampard looks for immediate improvements after individual mistakes cost his team in the North-West.
Nevertheless, Fikayo Tomori and Marcos Alonso may be afforded some minutes if Lampard is considering changes for the Premier League meeting with Leicester City on Sunday afternoon.
