Half-Time Report: Leicester City claim advantage against Chelsea

Marc Albrighton's goal in first-half stoppage time hands Leicester City a 1-0 lead over Chelsea at the King Power Stadium.

Marc Albrighton's goal has given Leicester City a 1-0 half-time lead over Chelsea at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester made a bright start to the game and created an opening when Esteban Cambiasso split the visiting defence with a clever lofted pass, but Leonardo Ulloa's poor touch allowed the Premier League leaders to recover.

The hosts would be dealt a couple of frustrating blows in the first half as both Andy King and Robert Huth were forced off with injuries.

Despite enjoying more possession as the game progressed, Chelsea struggled to break down the home side and a promising attack came to an end when Didier Drogba sliced an effort wide.

Chelsea managed to survive an onslaught just before the break as Petr Cech kept out Paul Konchesky's volley before Gary Cahill made a vital block to deny Jamie Vardy.

However, Leicester claimed the lead in stoppage time when Vardy sprinted clear on the left side of the box before squaring the ball to Albrighton, who took advantage of Cesar Azpilicueta's slip to slot home.
