Chelsea team news: Injury, suspension list vs Norwich City

Chelsea injury, suspension list vs. Norwich

Chelsea travel to Norwich City this weekend as Frank Lampard seeks his first victory in the managerial hotseat of the club where he enjoyed such success as a player.

After their transfer ban prevented them from making any signings over the summer, Lampard has placed his faith in Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham to inject youthful energy into his side.

The Blues will come into this game off the back of a 1-1 draw with Leicester and will be buoyed by the performance of Mount, who got off the mark for Chelsea on his home Premier League debut.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest injury and suspension news for Lampard's side ahead of Leicester's visit.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Status: Out Type of injury: Achilles Possible return date: November 2 (vs. Watford)

England international Loftus-Cheek is not expected to return to the pitch until November after suffering a serious Achilles injury at the end of last season.

Callum Hudson-Odoi

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Achilles Possible return date: September 14 (vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers)

Hudson-Odoi, like Loftus-Cheek, is still carrying an Achilles injury from last season. The 18-year-old is unlikely to feature until after the international break in September, although timescales are not always accurate.

Reece James

Status: Out Type of injury: Ankle Possible return date: September 14 (vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers)

James suffered a broken ankle over the summer while on international duty and will be working hard on his rehabilitation after impressing during a loan spell at Wigan Athletic last season.

Marco van Ginkel

Status: Out Type of injury: Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury Possible return date: Unknown

Van Ginkel ruptured his Anterior Cruciate Ligament over the summer and underwent surgery in July. It was reported that the midfielder would be out for eight months, but the recovery time for ACL injuries can vary heavily among professional footballers.

CHELSEA'S SUSPENSION LIST
