Chelsea will reportedly miss the chance to reappoint coach Guus Hiddink after Russian outfit Anzhi Makhachkala make the Dutchman their top priority.
Reports have claimed that the former Premier League champions are prepared to dump under-fire boss Andre Villas-Boas in favour of Hiddink, who temporarily took charge at Stamford Bridge in 2009.
Despite a potential return to London, it is thought that Hiddink has become the frontrunner to snatch the vacant managerial role in the Russian Premier League, according to the Daily Mail.
Anzhi are without a head coach following Yuri Krasnozhan's resignation from the club on Monday.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is believed to be getting increasingly frustrated with Villas-Boas following a number of disappointing results in the league, which has seen the London side drop out of the top four.
