Andre Villas-Boas: Roman Abramovich support 'unconditional'

AVB: Abramovich support 'unconditional'

Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has claimed that chairman Roman Abramovich's support for him is "unconditional" after his side were held 1-1 by Championship side Birmingham City today.

However, Villas-Boas did concede that the result wasn't good enough, as the Blues have now gone four games without a win in all competitions.

"The desire and ambition was there," he told ESPN.

"Normally you play against a team and they have the same desire and ambition as you, they match you, and I think Birmingham matched us today in that sense. They gained motivation from the goal and that inspired them to the draw.

"It was a poor result, of course, but it was an excellent performance in the second half."

Chelsea fans were reportedly heard chanting the name of former manager Jose Mourinho after they fell a goal behind.
