Andre Villas-Boas has no problem with "fantastic" Rafael Benitez

AVB: 'Honour to meet Benitez'

Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has claimed that it would be an "honour" to meet former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez, despite speculation of the Spaniard taking over at Stamford Bridge.

The ex-Inter Milan coach has become the latest manager rumoured to replace the 34-year-old, who has had a tumultuous first season with the Blues.

"It would be an honour for me [to meet Benitez]," said Villas-Boas. "I have no problem with that. We share a common friend but I have never met him.

"We were going to have dinner three or four months ago but we didn't. It would be fantastic to have dinner with him. He is one of the most successful managers in world football."

Benitez's agent has denied any approach from Chelsea for the former Premier League boss.
