Andre Villas-Boas criticises Chelsea's managerial policy, while also wishing departing coach Roberto Di Matteo well.

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Andre Villas-Boas has aimed a dig at Chelsea regarding the way that they sack managers.

Since 2003 when Roman Abramovich took ownership of the club, the Blues have parted company with eight managers, the latest of whom was Roberto Di Matteo earlier today.

"At Chelsea, I think another sacking is just like any other day at the office. That's my interpretation," Villas-Boas told reporters when asked about Chelsea's current situation.

Di Matteo took over at Stamford Bridge from Villas-Boas in March of this year and the Portuguese coach has wished his predecessor well for the future.

"He has achieved so much in such a little amount of time," Villas-Boas added. "His CV is maybe one of the best in the world now - he has won the Champions League and the FA Cup too.

"It was difficult for Robbie and I wish him well for the rest of his career. Regarding the club, it's their decision, it's what they think will take them forward but other than that I can't comment."

Villas-Boas spent less than a season in charge of Chelsea.
