Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic: 'We need consecutive victories'

Branislav Ivanovic says that Chelsea need a run of consecutive victories after slipping up against Newcastle United at the weekend.

Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic has claimed that his team are in need of a winning run after dropping points against Newcastle United at the weekend.

Jose Mourinho's side are currently 15th in the Premier League table after picking up just two victories in seven games.

The defending English champions seemed to be back on track when they secured a 2-0 win over Arsenal a fortnight ago, but they could only rescue a point in a 2-2 draw against Newcastle at St James' Park on Saturday.

"This is a completely different season and in our head we know that," Ivanovic told the club's official website. "We cannot go back to last season.

"For us now it's important to keep winning games and to go back to the good level we were at in the last couple of games. That is what we need."

Chelsea will switch their attention to the Champions League this week when they face Mourinho's former club Porto on Tuesday.
