Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has revealed that his mind was not focused on the Blues' FA Cup quarter-final win over Leicester City yesterday due to Bolton Wanderers midfielder Fabrice Muamba's critical condition in hospital.
The Chelsea centre-back, who played alongside Muamba at the Reebok Stadium until his switch to Stamford Bridge in January, unveiled a 'Pray 4 Muamba' t-shirt after he scored during the Blues' 5-2 win over the Foxes.
"My mind was in a different place, but we went out there and did the job," The Mirror quotes Cahill as saying. "It was nice to get the goal, but the game was a bit of a blur for me after having seen what happened at White Hart Lane and I just hope [Muamba] is OK."
The Bolton midfielder collapsed on the pitch during the Trotters' FA Cup clash with Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, which was later abandoned due to the severity of the 23-year-old's condition.
