A report suggests that Chelsea brought in veteran English goalkeeper Rob Green behind new manager Maurizio Sarri's back.

Maurizio Sarri's backroom coaching staff are bemused by Chelsea's decision to bring in veteran goalkeeper Rob Green, according to a report.

The Blues made the surprise decision to bring in the 38-year-old earlier this week to provide backup to Thibaut Courtois and Willy Caballero.

Green was handed a one-year deal at Stamford Bridge after being left without a club following his release from Huddersfield Town.

Sarri and his newly-appointed team had no say in the decision, however, with The Times reporting that the Italian had his own list of goalkeeping targets.

Despite being ignored by the Chelsea hierarchy, though, Sarri is reportedly not annoyed as the arrival of Green does at least boost the club's home-grown quota, while the ex-England international is unlikely to play a single minute.
