Roberto Di Matteo is reportedly pondering whether to quit his assistant managerial role at Chelsea.
The ex-West Bromwich Albion boss is eager to take the helm himself rather than stay as Andre Villas-Boas's right-hand man, according to the Daily Star.
The 41-year-old, who spent six years in the Blues side during his playing career, is believed to be considering a move back to Switzerland.
It is reported that Andre Villas-Boas originally wanted to bring his ex-assistant manager Vitor Pereira from Porto to Stamford Bridge. However, the 43-year-old is now the Portuguese side's first-team coach and unlikely to make the switch.
