Roberto Di Matteo is coy on the possibility of becoming the permanent Chelsea manager.

Chelsea's temporary manager Roberto Di Matteo has remained coy on his chances of becoming the permanent boss at Stamford Bridge.

The former West Bromwich Albion coach was appointed until the end of the season following the sacking of Portuguese boss Andre Villas-Boas.

While Jose Mourinho, Pep Guardiola and Rafael Benitez have been reported as contenders for the full-time position, Di Matteo has not ruled himself out of the permanent vacancy.

"Would I take it?" BBC Sport quotes Di Matteo as saying. "I have to think about the Stoke game [on Saturday]. Think whatever you want to think. I'm not thinking about anything else."

Di Matteo got his Chelsea managerial stint off to a winning start by reaching the quarter-finals of the FA Cup after defeating Birmingham City 2-0 at St Andrew's.
