Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic pleased to extend Premier League lead

Branislav Ivanovic says that he is pleased that Chelsea extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to six points with Sunday's draw at home to Southampton.

Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic has said that he is pleased that the Blues extended their lead at the top of the Premier League with Sunday's draw at home to Southampton.

Jose Mourinho's side are now six points clear of Manchester City at the summit with 10 games left to play.

However, Ivanovic believes that Chelsea can consider themselves unlucky to have not taken all three points against the Saints.

"It was a hard, difficult game," the Serbian told the club's official website.

"In the second half we tried to give our best, we created some chances but we didn't score. I think with a little bit more luck we could have got three points.

"We played very well in the second half and controlled the game."

Chelsea travel to Hull City next Sunday.
