David Luiz 'will play anywhere' for Chelsea

David Luiz insists that he is prepared to 'play anywhere' for Chelsea as Blues boss Antonio Conte works the Brazilian into his starting XI.

David Luiz has insisted that he 'will play anywhere' for Chelsea after completing a return to Stamford Bridge.

The Brazilian international re-joined the Blues from Paris Saint-Germain on transfer deadline day, just two years after moving in the opposite direction for a fee in the region of £50m.

It is understood that Chelsea boss Antonio Conte wants to use Luiz in a back three this season, and the 29-year-old has said that he can operate in whichever system that the Italian decides to use.

"I started playing three at the back with Vitoria in Brazil, but it doesn't matter where, I want to help and when I am in the team I am there to try to help," Luiz told the club's official website.

"The coach is an amazing coach, he understands a lot of tactical things and I know he chooses every match the best line up, so if he needs to play three, four or two, it doesn't matter, I am there if he wants me to play. In different positions I am available."

Luiz has mainly played centre-back during his professional career, but was also used as a defensive midfielder during his first stint at Stamford Bridge.
