Juan Mata says that he is focused on beating Manchester City on Monday night.

Chelsea playmaker Juan Mata has said that he is only focusing on beating Manchester City ahead of their showdown on Monday night.

The Blues, who are coming off two important victories in the Premier League and Champions League, will look to continue their recent run of form when the league leaders travel to Stamford Bridge for a top-of-the-table clash.

While a win would launch the London club back into title contention, a loss would leave them 13 points adrift of Roberto Mancini's men. However, Mata insists that he's not thinking about that.

"I'm just thinking of winning," he said. "Man City are having a great Premier League [season].

"There are so many weeks until the Premier League finishes. We will keep going every week to win and to be closest to the leader."

The Spaniard has made 12 league appearances for Chelsea this season and scored three goals.
