AS Monaco have moved to distance themselves from speculation that has linked Jose Mourinho with a move to the Stade Louis II.
Shareholder Alessandro Proto recently claimed that the Ligue 1 club had made contact with Chelsea regarding the availability of their Portuguese manager.
Further reports suggested that Monaco would be prepared to compensate their Premier League counterparts with around £35m to help the deal go through, although that approach was said to have been rejected by Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.
However, on the French side's official Twitter page this afternoon, the story was described as "extravagant and unsubstantiated".
AS Monaco would invite the media to not repeat extravagant and unsubstantiated rumors from a « supposedly minority shareholder. » #THX
