Jose Mourinho made pleading phone call to Paul Pogba to try to sign him?

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho reportedly made a phone call last month in an attempt to convince Juventus star Paul Pogba to move to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues were thought to have been trying to sign the former Manchester United midfielder throughout the summer transfer window.

However, a transfer never materialised, despite Mourinho personally calling Pogba to try to persuade him to return to the Premier League, according to L'Equipe.

The report adds that the 22-year-old was not interested in switching to Chelsea this summer as he feared it could hamper his preparations for Euro 2016 in his homeland of France.
