Jose Mourinho intends his second spell as Chelsea manager to be a long one and more successful than his fruitful first tenure in charge.
The Portuguese tactician won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup trophy and two League Cups in his reign between 2004 and 2007, and returned to West London last summer.
His current contract with the Blues runs until 2017, but Mourinho believes that there is a project that needs developing at Stamford Bridge and is targeting a stay beyond that, and plenty more silverware.
"I have the record - three-and-a-half years. I have to try and beat the record!" Mourinho told reporters. "The club is good - it is more mature and stable now. The club knows what it really wants. The basic thing is the club wants to win, but it also knows the direction it wants to go in.
"That's why I came back. Not just because I love Chelsea and want to be back, I came because I believe in the project.
"I'm here to do my best and to beat the record. I have a four-year contract, so hopefully I'll beat the record."
Chelsea host Manchester United this afternoon, hoping to continue Mourinho's unbeaten Premier League home record as manager.
