Jose Mourinho reveals plans for Nathan

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho confirms that new signing Nathan is likely to spend his first season on the Blues' books out on loan.

Jose Mourinho has confirmed that new recruit Nathan will not be involved in Chelsea's first team next season.

The highly-rated Brazilian, 19, was snapped up by the Blues from Atletico Paranaense last week, but Mourinho says that he is destined for a loan move first of all.

He was signed for a reported £4.5m, and the Portuguese manager says that the fee may have been significantly larger had they waited until Nathan's value increased.

"Nathan will not be in Chelsea's squad next year, simple as that," Mourinho told reporters.

"You buy, in very good circumstances before the price goes to the moon. You develop the player. He belongs to you, is on loan, and in the right moment you bring him back."

Nathan is a Brazil Under-20 international.
