Neil Etheridge: 'Chelsea lack leaders'

Walsall goalkeeper Neil Etheridge believes that Chelsea are lacking leaders on the pitch.

Walsall goalkeeper Neil Etheridge has suggested that Chelsea have a lack of leadership in their current playing squad.

The Philippines international, who spent four years at Stamford Bridge until 2006, believes that Jose Mourinho is struggling to find new leaders to replace those they have lost recently.

The 25-year-old told reporters: "They are a fantastic team but they are going through a rough patch. The thing which is going on with John Terry, no-one really knows what is happening.

"He is a massive leader in the team. They lost Frank [Lampard], who is another huge leader. I look at that team and it's a fantastic bunch of players but I don't know how many leaders they have got out there.

"They have a lot of talent with a fantastic manager, but they won't want to come to Walsall on a Wednesday night that's for sure."

Etheridge has played five times for Walsall after joining the club on a free transfer in the summer.
