Manchester City's Manuel Pellegrini: 'Chelsea don't deserve title'

Manuel Pellegrini believes that Chelsea do not deserve to win the Premier League title this season.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has claimed that Chelsea do not deserve to win the Premier League title this season.

The Chilean argues that his side or Liverpool should clinch the championship for having scored 19 and 25 more goals respectively than Jose Mourinho's team.

"It would be very disappointing if either of the two teams who scored the most goals don't win the league," The People quotes him as saying.

"For football, for the fans, for everyone it would be disappointing. I think that the most attractive football, the more goals you can score, should be rewarded.

"I'm not saying it's not important to defend very well because, of course, football is about attacking and defending. But big teams must play as big teams."

Liverpool are currently two points clear of Chelsea at the top of the league table, while City are four points off the pace but have two games in hand.
