Jose Mourinho expects Fernando Torres to be out for a "couple of weeks"

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho expects Fernando Torres to be out of action for a "couple of weeks" due to a muscle injury.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has suggested that striker Fernando Torres will be sidelined for a "couple of weeks" after picking up a muscle injury.

The Spaniard was forced to pull out of the first team in the last minute ahead of the Blues' 4-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

As a result of the injury that Torres suffered during the warm-up, Mourinho will juggle between forwards Samuel Eto'o and Demba Ba for the next few games.

"Torres has a muscular problem, and even when they are small it is always a couple of weeks," Mourinho told the club's official website. "He has to go for scans.

"He's already had two problems, in both knees, both ligaments, but his recovery was faster than we expected. He also had a little muscular problem and now he's having another one.

"Sometimes it happens. There are other players who have the same. Others have a complete season without problems."

The West London outfit currently lead the pack at the top of the Premier League table by seven points.
