Villas-Boas: 'No excuses' for defeats

Andre Villas-Boas claims that there are no excuses for Chelsea's recent run of form.

Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has said that he will make no excuses for the club's recent run of results.

The Blues boss, whose side are without a win in almost a month, admits that he is still in the process of implementing his own tactics at Stamford Bridge. However, while he concedes that there have been growing pains, he claims that there is no excuse for defeat.

"We are trying to educate the players to play in a different way, where you have more of the ball and are less in transition," he said.

"At the moment results haven't been happening and there is an obvious need for a win to come.

"A lot of clubs have gone through it in the past. AC Milan went five seasons without a title to go past a major change. That is not an excuse."

Chelsea welcome struggling Bolton to Stamford Bridge this afternoon.
