Wallace expresses his happiness that there are a handful of fellow Brazilians already at Chelsea.

Chelsea's latest signing Wallace has admitted that one of the major factors behind his decision to sign for the club was the presence of a number of fellow Brazilians at Stamford Bridge.

Despite interest from a handful of Serie A clubs, Chelsea confirmed yesterday afternoon that they had captured the services of the 18-year-old from Fluminense.

Discussing his switch, the defender revealed that being able to call the likes of David Luiz and Oscar teammates made his decision easier.

"There were lots of Italian teams interested in signing me but it was the name Chelsea that attracted me," he said. "I know Piazon, Luiz, Ramires and Oscar — that was an important factor in having all these people here.

"It's always helpful having Brazilian teammates playing alongside you, as they can give you some important advice about the lifestyle, the football and the language. Now that I'm moving to London I'll have to learn some English.

"Historically, I've watched a lot of Spanish football but now that I am joining Chelsea, I have been watching even more English football on television."

Wallace will return to Fluminense on a loan basis until the end of the season.
