Former Chelsea coach Ray Wilkins has called David Luiz "a penalty just waiting to happen".
Luiz completed a spectacular return to Chelsea on transfer deadline day, with the Blues parting with £32m to re-sign the player that they sold to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2014.
Wilkins has insisted that the Brazilian is "a very talented footballer", but doubts whether his former club will benefit if the 29-year-old has returned to play in central defence.
"We are coming up to Christmas and he loves giving presents away. He is a penalty just waiting to happen, especially as a central defender,' he said on Sky Sports News.
"Don't get me wrong, he is a very talented footballer but he is not a centre-half as far as I'm concerned. He is a holding midfield player or a midfield player. He just makes very, very rash decisions and poor decisions as a centre-half. I don't understand why they brought him back into the fold."
Luiz is expected to make his second Chelsea debut in Sunday's trip to Swansea City in the Premier League.
