The Football Association will announce whether John Terry will be charged for his clash with Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand in the next 48 hours.

The Chelsea skipper was accused of calling the 27-year-old "a fucking black cunt" during the Blues' visit to Loftus Road in October of last year.

However, Terry was cleared of racially abusing Ferdinand following a week-long trial at Westminster Magistrates' Court 12 days ago.

Despite the not guilty verdict, Terry, along with Ferdinand, may still be charged for bringing the game into disrepute.

The FA have sought the recommendation of an independent QC to help them with their decision.
