Chelsea end Stoke City's unbeaten home record

Jonathan Walters scores two own goals as Stoke lose their unbeaten home record to a ruthless Chelsea side at the Britannia Stadium.

Two own goals from Jonathan Walters helped Chelsea emphatically end Stoke City's unbeaten home Premier League record at the Britannia Stadium this afternoon.

After Kenwyne Jones squandered a great early chance, Chelsea dominated the possession but were denied an opener several times by Asmir Begovic.

The Potters keeper produced an excellent stop to prevent Demba Ba from scoring his first Premier League goal for the club, before foiling Frank Lampard with a fine reflex save.

Steven N'Zonzi called Petr Cech into action with a nodded effort but it was a header at the other end that broke the deadlock.

In first-half stoppage time, Walters left Begovic helpless by heading Cesar Azpilicueta's cross into the home net.

A second own goal in similar circumstances, a near-post deflection from Juan Mata's corner, doubled Chelsea's lead and triggered a Stoke collapse.

The instrumental Lampard got himself on the scoresheet when he converted from the penalty spot after former Blue Robert Huth was adjudged to have brought him down in the box.

Eden Hazard capped off a fine afternoon for the European champions with a great individual effort.

The Belgian skipped past two Stoke challenges before firing in from 30 yards to increase Chelsea's lead to four.

John Terry made his comeback from injury with a late substitute appearance for the visitors but he felled Walters in the box with his only significant involvement.

A miserable afternoon for the Stoke man was compounded when he blazed the spot kick over the crossbar as the hosts suffered their worst ever home Premier League defeat.
